Ben Affleck was shocked when his wife Jennifer Lopez shared his private love letters with her songwriters.

The Town actor and director married Lopez in July 2022 after their famous breakup years earlier. It’s now been revealed his emotional notes have been used by the singer as part of the inspiration for her upcoming album This Is Me… Now.

A preview for Lopez’s upcoming Amazon Prime documentary, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, showed the performer inviting musicians to her and Affleck’s home and giving them access to his love letters, which he titled “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”

The Chasing Amy star is then seen walking in and looking stunned as he realizes she is showing them to her collaborators.

“I did really find the beauty and the poetry and the irony in the fact that it’s the greatest love story never told,” he admits to the camera.

“If you’re making a record about it, that seems kind of like telling it,” he adds, sharing his appreciation of his letters being part of Lopez’s album.

The Hustlers star previously hinted at the existence of her husband’s romantic letters in another teaser of the Amazon film released in November. She was filmed holding a note dated Dec. 24, 2002, which appeared to be from Affleck.

“Life’s tough but you’re sweet. Thanks for the gift. Hope you like the flowers. You told me you could never have enough. I believe you,” it said, signed “B.”

“People think they know things about what happened to me along the way, but they really have no idea — and a lot of times they get it so wrong,” Lopez said. She has said her new album will be the “most honest” thing she’s done.

“There’s a part of me that was hiding a side of myself from everyone,” she told Vogue.

This Is Me… Now: A Love Story is set for release on Feb. 27, with Lopez’s latest album coming out on Feb. 16.
