Mo’Nique and her son Shalon Jackson are going back and forth on social media after he shared he does not believe his mother has any interest in reconciling their relationship.
In Mo’Nique’s latest move on Instagram, she revealed text messages between her and Jackson that are from 2021 with the caption of the post saying “HEY MY SWEET BABIES HERE ARE THE RECEIPTS FROM A MOTHER WHO ALLEGEDLY DOES NOT LOVE HER SON WE ARE SHARING THIS WITH SHALON & THE COMMUNITY!”
This all started after Mo’Nique went to “Club Shay Shay” and said she and Jackson were still “separated” and that it’s “one of those things where you have to pray to the universe and say, ‘Let time do the healing.'”
On Feb. 13, Jackson shared his side of the story in a video about his relationship with his mother, claiming that her praying to the universe to reconcile their relationship is false.
“My mother and I both know that is a very false narrative, and I would like to free her of having to continue telling that lie. Faith without works is dead, and neither one of us cares to put forth any effort to reconcile with the other. We are separate, as she put it, because she doesn’t care to be my mother any more than I care to be her son. Neither of us has had the desire to reach out to the other in a very long time,” Jackson said.
Shortly after, Mo’Nique responded with a video of her own alongside her husband, Sidney Hicks.
“There are some people who are saying ‘you should be ashamed of your mothering skills,’” Mo’Nique said. “Let’s let it play out. The same ones who said to me I was crazy and deranged, we watched it play out. So, just like with my son, we’ll watch this play out.”
