Why Markice Moore will always have Tyler Perry’s back

Actor-rapper was candid about why he respects the filmmaker

Markice Moore wants all the smoke behind Tyler Perry.

The actor and rapper appeared in 32 episodes of Perry’s “The Paynes” in 2018.

Recently, at an event hosted by Shannon Sharpe, Moore spoke to rolling out about why he defends Perry.

You’re here tonight at Shannon Sharpe’s event. Why did you decide to come out and support?

I’m here to talk about “Club Shay Shay,” man. That’s what I’m here to talk about. No, I’m just playing, man.

When are you going to get on “Club Shay Shay”?

That’s what I’m here to talk about. I’m trying to get on “Club Shay Shay.”

Well, you have that Tyler Perry connection. Do you have any tea? That’s the guy they keep calling out.

Oh, naw. Yeah, you’re right. That’s not going to be me. I’ve got nothing but love for Tyler.

How do you feel when people call him out? It feels like he’s become an easy target.

I think it’s pretty corny when people do that. I think a lot of times when people do stuff like that it’s because they didn’t get an opportunity or get something out of an opportunity. So they take that time to s— on the people that gave them the opportunity. I was always taught to never bite the hand that feeds, so I respect Tyler to the utmost.

Do you feel like there is a line between being appreciative of an opportunity, and also holding people who did bad business with you accountable?

Yeah, I think there is a line, definitely there. It comes down to what you negotiate. At the end of the day, it’s business, and if you have a team, they should be making sure that you get the best contract possible. I have sympathy for actors who feel like they get taken advantage of, but it’s a lesson learned, and don’t let it happen to you again.

What do you have going on right now?

I got an album out right now it’s called I’m Dreaming Big, it’s out on all platforms. I have two television shows, one movie out right now, we’re No. 6 worldwide on Netflix with Point Blank.

I can’t ask for a better year so far, man. I’m really blessed. I’m really blessed.
