The Golden State Warriors have not been the same basketball team that many people have known them as. A team that was once hard to beat has come down to Earth, and many factors have led to this.
The biggest factor has been Klay Thompson’s decline, but the next has been the antics of Draymond Green, who was already suspended earlier this year for hitting an opposing player across the face.
After playing only four minutes in the previous Warriors’ game, where they faced the Orlando Magic, Green was once again ejected. With the Warriors in the 10th seed in the conference and playing to keep their playoff hopes alive, every game matters. That means having the best players on the floor.

Once Green was ejected, the broadcast showed Curry visibly frustrated, hanging his head and repeatedly wiping his face with his jersey as if he were tearing up.
Even without Green, the Warriors were still able to beat the Magic, and Curry launched a dagger three to put the game away. After he made his “go to sleep” signal to the crowd, Curry then headed to the bench and kicked a chair, igniting more emotion from him and his team.

After the game, Curry was asked about Green’s ejection.
“All I’ll say is we need him. He knows that. We all know that,” Curry said. “Whatever it takes to keep him on the floor, him be available, that’s what’s got to happen, especially at this point in the year.”
The Warriors are battling to stay ahead of the Houston Rockets, who are one game behind them in the standings to grab the 10th seed. If the Warriors want a chance at the playoffs, staying healthy and winning games is what they’ll have to do as the regular season winds down.
