Victoria Monét does not want to be dragged into the beef between GloRilla and City Girls’ rapper JT and she’s gone so far as to fire an employee for liking a social media post about it.

The “On My Mama” singer did an Instagram Live session on Friday, April 5 in which she addressed some fans’ claims that she was appearing to choose sides in the matter. She explained that she didn’t even know the beef was happening until she caught someone from her team liking a post in the exchange that featured a mugshot of JT.

“[It’s] really irritating because I have no problem with either of them,” the 34-year-old singer and songwriter said. “I don’t f— with Black women beefing online. […] I love my Black women. I support my Black women. I only uplift them.”

“And the person who did is…FIRED,” she added emphatically.

The simmering tensions between Glo and JT first began with rumors of a physical fight between the two having happened sometime last year. While word of a beef has lingered since, GloRilla’s recently released song, “Aite,” finds her musing on female rap unity and even references JT directly.

I just pray one day the bad b—— would come together
cause Cardi and Nicki on a track would break some f—— records
Me and JT ain’t the best of friends but we ain’t beefing
know b—— always having and that they keep a secret.

JT recently responded to a fan on X/Twitter about the alleged incident and voiced her frustration with Glo’s supposed flip-flopping on the subject with an initial non-response in shutting the rumor down, then alluding to the incident in her hit song “Yeah Glo!” and now her positioning on “Aite.”

“I been said she didn’t! She the one went radio silent! Played into and released a song about ‘slapping rap b—— ‘now it’s female unity?? CORNY!!!!!,” JT wrote.
