DC is the fashion designer behind the brand Stay Down Ball Forever, which means that whatever you’re setting to achieve for yourself will not happen overnight, but it will not take forever.
DC was present at the Got Sole sneaker convention and spoke with rolling out about the brand and what fashion means to him.
What inspired you to get into fashion?
I had a big following, and a lot of people were following the Stay Down Ball Forever movement, so I was like let me find a way to express myself through clothes other than music.
What’s the meaning behind your brand?
Everybody has a goal that they’re chasing; you just have to be patient. It doesn’t happen overnight. You have to keep working at it and stay patient, and it’s going to come. The goals I’m chasing right now are to have a bigger influence on the brand and to be a mogul in the fashion scene.
Everybody is going to eventually know who I am. It’s not a goal; it’s just what’s going to happen. I’m not chasing anything; everything is going to happen. I just have to do what I have to do.
What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion is just expressing yourself or whatever you put on comfortably. No trends, just comfortably getting dressed, and wearing whatever you want to wear.
What is one business tip you’ve learned being in the fashion scene?
Two things: Be patient and put 100% effort into everything you do. It’s going to show. Anytime you make clothes and you don’t put your effort into it, it’ll show.
