Patrick Beverley‘s lack of self control has gone to another level.

In the final moments of the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2024 season against the Indiana Pacers of this year’s NBA Playoffs, Beverley threw a ball at Pacers fans twice. The fan allegedly yelled, “Cancun on three!” to the Bucks’ bench, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

After the game, during the media’s period to interview players in the locker room, Beverley asked ESPN‘s Malinda Adams if she was subscribed to his podcast. When Adams told Beverley she hasn’t, he said, “you can’t interview me then.”

The postgame locker room back-and-forth continued as Beverley looked at other reporters to ask questions. As the next question was asked, Beverley looked at Adams and pushed her microphone down.

“Can you put that mic down for me, please?” he said.

Adams eventually lifted the microphone back up, this time closer to her hip instead of in Beverley’s face.

“Can you move that mic please, or just get out the circle, please?” Beverley said, motioning over Adams’ way.  “Please, ma’am? If you’re not subscribed to my pod, I appreciate that. Thank you.”

Many sports journalists — including Adams’ colleague Marc J. Spears — spoke up on social media in support of Adams.

“First, the disrespect to Michele Roberts in the NBA Bubble in front of other NBA players and now this …” Spears posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “[Beverley] is who he is. Respect to stellar veteran producer Malinda Adams for her professionalism through that silliness.”

Adams then released a public statement herself.

“I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support,” Adams posted on X. “I am humbled. Patrick Beverley just called me and apologized. I appreciate it and accept it. The Bucks also reached out to apologize. I’ve been in news for over 40 years, and kindness and grace always win.”
