Ice Cube doesn’t think celebrity endorsements will hold much weight in this current election cycle.

The rap icon recently appeared on the Fox Business show “Mornings with Maria” to discuss the moves his Big 3 basketball league continues to make as well as the upcoming 2024 U.S. Presidential election. When asked if he thought there was a shift happening in the black community with a handful of rappers openly endorsing Trump, the Are We There Yet? star said he thinks people will cast their votes based on a “personal decision.”

“You know, people gonna make a decision on who they want to be president,” Cube said matter of factly. “You know, I think it’s a personal decision. I don’t know if they care if any rappers or entertainers get up there and say anything. It’s really a personal decision.”

When discussing possible voter apathy due to both candidates receiving lukewarm reviews of their time in the land’s highest office, the 54-year-old businessman and media mogul says the people already know what to expect from both men.

“People know who Trump is. People know who Biden is.,” he said. “They gon’ make their decision no matter who gets up there and pushes whatever decision they on. The country knows both of these guys very well. I just think it’s gonna come down to a personal decision.”

Though his time in office was wrought with controversy and mayhem, Trump still managed to garner the support of a number of rappers including Azealia Banks, Chief Keef, Sexyy Red, Waka Flocka Flame, and most famously, Kanye West, who went so far as to wear his infamous MAGA hat and met with the twice-impeached former POTUS a number of times.

The 2024 presidential election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
