In a significant move to support Black-owned small businesses, Pinterest and Shopify have renewed their partnership to provide essential resources aimed at helping these businesses flourish. This collaboration is part of Pinterest’s incubator program, which has been instrumental in aiding over 150 content creators from underrepresented communities since its inception in 2021.

Expanding opportunities for diverse creators

The program is now broadening its reach to include independent publishers and boutique creator agencies, offering them the chance to benefit from the program’s resources. The initiative focuses on upskilling content producers with the necessary tools to enhance organic content and growth on Pinterest’s platform.

Unlocking potential on Pinterest

With a staggering 1.5 billion saves per week, Pinterest opens up a world of opportunity for content producers to elevate their ideas and products. The platform’s vast audience of over half a billion users actively searching, saving, and shopping presents a fertile ground for businesses to expand their reach.

Shopify’s role in the collaboration

Shopify, a leader in e-commerce, will serve as an industry expert throughout the program. The company will assist in selecting the final merchant recipients and provide a training session to share its industry insights. Participants will learn how to connect their Shopify storefront to a Pinterest business account, maximizing their brand’s value.

Comprehensive support for participants

Selected recipients can expect a suite of support services, including one-to-one educational resources, training, mentorship, and monetary support through cash and ad credits. Additionally, they will receive a one-year paid subscription to content-scheduling platforms like Tailwind, further enhancing their ability to manage and grow their online presence.

How to apply

For Black-owned small businesses looking to harness the power of Pinterest and Shopify’s collaborative program, applications are now open. This initiative represents a significant step towards fostering growth and success for entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities.

Interested businesses can find more information on how to apply by visiting the official Pinterest creators’ blog or the Pinterest Inclusion Fund application page.
