Nick Cannon and Alyssa Scott recently commemorated what would have been the third birthday of their late son, Zen Scott Cannon, who tragically died from a rare form of brain cancer at just 5 months old in December 2021.

Commemorative birthday celebration

This past weekend, Nick and Alyssa, along with friends and family, gathered to honor Zen’s memory. The celebration included releasing large blue balloons and displaying heartfelt tributes. Alyssa shared a touching black and white poster on her Instagram Story, featuring photos of Zen and the words “Celebrating Zen’s Light,” highlighting the date June 23, 2024, which marks his birthday.

Nick also took to Instagram to share moments from the day, including images of candles and posters adorned with Zen’s photos, encapsulating his brief yet impactful journey. He expressed gratitude for the support and love received, emphasizing the importance of turning pain into purpose and ensuring Zen’s light continues to shine.

Legacy and reflection

Following Zen’s passing, Nick honored his son with a tattoo on his ribs, a permanent reminder of his little angel. The family’s healing journey continued with the birth of their daughter, Halo Marie Cannon, in December 2022, bringing a new beginning to their lives.

Nick, a father to 12 children, has openly discussed the challenges and joys of parenting, focusing on quality time and the emotional complexities involved. Despite the large family, he has mentioned not planning for more children at the moment.

The story of Zen Scott Cannon, though marked by tragedy, continues to resonate as a message of love, remembrance, and the indomitable spirit of family resilience.
