The late Prince, David Beckham, and Green Day are among the illustrious (and quite varied) list of celebrities chosen to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2025.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, after some serious deliberation, has announced the honorees who have been whittled down for a tribute on the famous Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk.

In addition to the ‘Purple Rain’ legend – who died at the age of 57 in 2016 – the 49-year-old British football icon, and the American punk rock trio (Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool, and Mike Dirnt), the list includes some other shining stars. Veteran actress Jane Fonda, 86, and actor Alan Cumming, 58, are among the selections for next year.

The motion picture honorees read like a who’s who of Hollywood, featuring John Carpenter, Jessica Chastain, Bill Duke, Robert Englund (famed for giving us all nightmares as Freddy Krueger), Emilio Estevez, Colin Farrell, Nia Long, Lisa Liu, Glynn Turman, and stuntwoman Toni Vaz, who is 101 years old.

On the small screen front, the TV stars lineup includes Fran Drescher, Lauren Graham, Bill Nye, Molly Shannon, Sherri Shepherd, Courtney B. Vance, Chris Wallace, and the ‘South Park’ creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who will share a joint ceremony.

Music legends won’t be left out in the cold, either. Alongside the posthumous honor for Prince, other musical maestros such as Fantasia, Depeche Mode, Los Bukis, The B-52s, The Isley Brothers, Busta Rhymes, George Strait, Keith Urban, and WAR will also be honored.

“Each honoree truly embodies the essence of excellence in their respective fields.” Commerce Chairman Peter Roth commented.

However, a word to the wise: While these stars have been selected, they do have two years to book their induction ceremony, otherwise it will expire.
