Don Toliver, a prominent figure in the hip-hop scene, recently hinted at the possibility of a collaborative album with Travis Scott, the founder of Cactus Jack Records. In a recent interview with GQ, Toliver expressed his deep admiration for Scott, describing him as “big bro” and hinting at future projects that could include a joint album.
Toliver, who has featured Scott on two tracks in his latest album Hardstone Psycho, credits Scott for his significant influence on the project. Scott’s guidance helped Toliver divide the album into four distinct sections, showcasing a strategic approach to music production. This collaboration marks another chapter in their long-standing partnership, which includes multiple collaborations on Toliver’s previous albums and Scott’s own projects.
Previous collaborations
Their history of collaboration dates back to 2018 when Toliver featured on “Can’t Say” from Scott’s Astroworld album. This feature was a pivotal moment for Toliver, boosting his visibility in the mainstream rap audience. Since then, Toliver has been a consistent presence on Scott’s albums and was a standout on the 2019 Jackboys track “What to Do?”
While Toliver remains cautious about confirming any definite plans for a collaborative album, his enthusiasm suggests that fans might expect something exciting soon. “I love Travis so much,” Toliver shared. “Me and him just, we grow together. So, I mean, you can just about expect possibly anything from us.”
