Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak has stepped into the spotlight with his new Olympic-themed song, “Hello World,” a collaboration with Gwen Stefani and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. Initially excited about the project, Paak faced the challenge of creating within a structured framework, a departure from his usual free-flowing creative process.

A new creative challenge

Embracing this unique opportunity, Paak saw it as a chance to flex his creative muscles. He performed “Hello World” for the first time at a Paris restaurant, aiming to capture the celebratory spirit of the Olympics.

Written and produced by Tedder, “Hello World” is backed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Coca-Cola. The song aims to inspire athletes and fans alike, balancing the demands of both organizations to deliver a powerful message.

Universal appeal

Paak, an eight-time Grammy winner, noted that the song is designed for everyone. He emphasized the importance of creating music that can resonate across generations, making it suitable for grandmas and kids alike.

Musical legacy of Olympic anthems

Throughout the years, the Olympics have featured memorable anthems, including Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time” and Katy Perry’s “Rise.” The IOC hopes that “Hello World” will join this legacy, fostering unity and inspiration during the Paris Olympics and future events, including the Los Angeles Games in 2028.

Paak believes the song can serve as a motivational soundtrack, uplifting those during challenging times. He hopes that “Hello World” will become an anthem for athletes, providing them with the mood music they need to excel.
