Majin Bu, a serial leaker of the tech behemoth’s plans, has revealed that the company will unveil the new generation of iPhones to the world at an in-person event on Sept. 10.

Bu shared a screenshot on X that supposedly shows an invitation to Apple’s special event for the launch. The Apple logo is bronze on the invitation in a hint at the prospect that a new color may be introduced to consumers of the smartphone.

The leak and the invitation have been met with skepticism on social media and in the press. Bu had to address the controversy.

“I have no way of verifying that this information is real, but it all seems very plausible considering the latest news,” he responded, according to Forbes.

“According to what I was told by a source who asked to remain anonymous, the new Apple event where the iPhone 16 will be presented, will be held on Sept. 10, 2024,” Bu wrote in a separate post on X.

The invitation states that the reveal will take place at Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park, details that are consistent with previous events held by the California company.

Apple’s previous invites have been made public, which has raised suspicions about the veracity of Majin Bu’s leak.

As well as the bronze color, it has been suggested that the phones will feature significant improvements to the camera and a new “capture button.”

No details have been revealed regarding what the button might do but it has been suggested as one of the main features of the new iPhone.
