WhatsApp looks set to get a new chat memory feature for Meta AI.
According to WABetaInfo.com — the go-to source for all the latest updates on the messaging service — Meta is developing a feature that will automatically relay relevant information that is personal to the user and has previously been shared with the chatbot.
This was discovered in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.22.9 update on the Google Play Store.
“Meta AI can remember a variety of personal details, such as whether the user is vegan, their birthday and even specific preferences like a formal conversation style. The AI can also remember allergies and personal interests, such as preferences for specific books and enjoyment of documentaries and podcasts,” WABetaInfo said.
It will be available in a “future update.”
The company’s boss, Mark Zuckerberg, recently boasted that he believes that Meta AI will be “the most used and best AI assistant in the world” by the end of this year.
Meta insists that the tool can be used for anything from lunch recipes to finding out the latest football scores.
The firm confirmed the user’s personal history with the chatbot will be saved, although old conversations can be deleted at any time.
