Rapper FERG has voiced support for Sean “Diddy” Combs while promoting his latest album “Darold,” marking his first full-length release since departing from A$AP Mob. The Harlem artist made his comments during a Nov. 12 appearance on “The Breakfast Club.”
“Diddy is my family and I love his family,” FERG said during the broadcast. “I don’t know all of what’s going on with this case and everything like that and it’s a bunch of hearsay.”
The interview coincides with FERG’s recent musical evolution, demonstrated on “Darold.” The album, named after his given name Darold Ferguson Jr., showcases his artistic growth with features from Robb Bank$, Big Sean and Rich The Kid. The project marks his first independent release following his separation from RCA Records.
FERG’s connection to Diddy spans generations, with his father having created the Bad Boy Records logo during the label’s early years. This history emerged in a 2013 interview where FERG discussed his family’s ties to industry figures including Andre Harrell and Heavy D.
The new album represents FERG’s most personal work to date, exploring themes of independence and artistic freedom. Released through his own imprint, the project demonstrates his evolution from group member to solo artist.
“Darold” arrives amid FERG’s broader career transition, which includes ventures beyond music into fashion and art. The rapper has maintained relevance through strategic collaborations and business moves while developing his independent artistic voice.
Judge Arun Subramanian recently denied a motion from Combs’s legal team requesting a gag order on potential witnesses. The judge stated such orders are considered a “last resort” and deemed the request premature.
The case continues drawing attention as developments unfold. While some industry figures express support for Combs, others maintain distance during legal proceedings.
