Travis Scott confirmed new music “really on the way” during an Art Basel autograph signing, suggesting material inspired by his successful Circus Maximus Tour.
The announcement follows Scott’s chart-topping 2023 album “UTOPIA” and streaming release of his 2014 mixtape “Days Before Rodeo.” Speaking with Cultured Magazine artist George Condo, Scott revealed constant studio work during tour stops.
“I’m back in album mode. I’ve been working on music and shit every day on tour,” Scott said, noting inspiration from sold-out stadium crowds.
Scott’s discography showcases significant evolution since his 2015 debut “Rodeo.” That album established his signature sound with tracks like “Antidote” and “3500,” garnering critical acclaim for its dark, atmospheric production.
His 2018 release “Astroworld” marked a commercial peak, debuting at No. 1 and earning a Grammy nomination. The album’s hit “Sicko Mode” demonstrated Scott’s ability to craft complex, multi-part compositions while maintaining mainstream appeal.
“UTOPIA” further expanded his sonic palette, incorporating electronic elements and unexpected collaborations. The album’s success proved Scott’s resilience following the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy.
The Houston rapper teased a potential concept album featuring songs representing different tour cities. Responding to a fan’s suggestion about this approach, Scott wrote “R u in my brain or what,” indicating serious consideration of the format.
Industry analysts expect new material debuts during Scott’s 2025 Coachella appearance. The festival marks his return after eight years, with Scott both performing and curating an experience called “Travis Scott Designs The Desert” for both April weekends.
“Tour-inspired albums often capture unique energy from live performances,” said music critic Sarah Chen. “Scott’s stadium experiences could translate into expansive sound evolution.”
“Each Scott album represents a distinct era in his artistry,” said hip-hop historian Marcus Thompson. “From the raw energy of ‘Rodeo’ to the polished production of ‘UTOPIA,’ his sound consistently pushes boundaries.”
The project would mark Scott’s fifth studio album, building on momentum from recent tour success and streaming achievements. Release dates remain unconfirmed as Scott continues development.
