Serena Williams is launching a kids clothing line. This new venture adds to her growing business portfolio, which already includes her S by Serena fashion brand.

The former tennis star has teamed up with children’s wear brand Janie and Jack to design her own collection aimed at youngsters up to the age of 12 and she’s shot a campaign which features her two young daughters Olympia, 7, and Adira, 18 months. The photoshoot captured the playful essence of the collection, highlighting Williams’ commitment to family-centered design.

“As a longtime fan of Janie and Jack, I’m thrilled to bring this collection to life alongside my girls. Every piece is designed to celebrate family, style and the special moments we share together. I poured so much love into this collection and can’t wait for families everywhere to experience it.” The collection will be available in Janie and Jack retail locations across the United States.

WIlliams said the collaboration came about because she loves the brand and regularly dresses her kids in Janie and Jack clothes. The partnership represents a natural evolution for Williams, who has demonstrated her fashion acumen through multiple ventures since retiring from professional tennis.

“I always post pictures of my kids and they’re always in Janie and Jack,” Williams said. “When I had Adira, this was a perfect time to do something. I love them [Janie and Jack]. They’re at my local mall. I like to go there and shop. It was very authentic and very normal.” Williams’ social media posts featuring her children in the brand have received positive engagement from her followers.

Williams went on to add: “Our initial call was: ‘Are we really going to do this? This is crazy.’ It was so authentically us on both sides. And my girls love the products…” This marks Williams’ first dedicated children’s clothing line, though she has previously incorporated family-inspired designs in her adult collections.

“I feel that’s the reason why I like [Janie and Jack] because they bring so much joy and fun, just colorful and whimsical things in their stores. I wouldn’t want to do anything different from that. I just wanted to add to that. It’s almost like a fairy tale through clothing.” The collection is expected to appeal to parents looking for stylish yet practical options for their children.

The collection features a range of playful designs incorporating bright colors, comfortable fabrics, and age-appropriate styling that reflects Williams’ personal aesthetic. The line successfully balances trendy elements with practical considerations for children’s active lifestyles.

Williams‘ venture into children’s wear comes at a time when the children’s clothing market is experiencing growth. Celebrity-backed children’s fashion lines have seen particular success in recent years, with several high-profile collaborations achieving strong sales.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion has been increasingly focused on her business ventures since stepping away from professional tennis. In addition to her fashion endeavors, Williams is an active venture capitalist through Serena Ventures, which has invested in numerous companies with a particular focus on diverse founders.

Retail experts note that Williams’ approach to children’s wear aligns with current market trends emphasizing inclusivity and practical designs that appeal to both parents and children. The collection includes several versatile options, reflecting the growing demand for adaptable children’s clothing.

The Janie and Jack collaboration represents Williams’ commitment to creating brands that extend beyond her athletic career. She has expressed her desire to build businesses that will provide opportunities for her daughters and inspire other female entrepreneurs.

The collection is expected to appeal to Williams‘ existing fan base as well as parents who appreciate the quality and aesthetic of Janie and Jack’s offerings. The combination of Williams’ influence and the established reputation of Janie and Jack creates a compelling proposition in the competitive childrenswear market.

Fashion industry observers have noted that Williams’ transition from sports icon to business entrepreneur follows a path similar to other successful athletes who have leveraged their personal brand into commercial ventures. Her authenticity and personal connection to the products she endorses resonates with consumers seeking genuine celebrity collaborations.

The Serena Williams x Janie and Jack collection represents a meaningful addition to the children’s wear landscape, bringing together Williams’ personal style sensibilities with a trusted brand known for quality children’s clothing. As Williams continues to expand her business empire, this collaboration showcases her versatility and understanding of what parents seek in children’s fashion.
