A Black judge’s decision to lower the bail for teen murder suspect Karmelo Anthony has incited waves of death threats from the Frisco, Texas, populace.
The 17-year-old Anthony (not to be confused with Hall of Fame NBA icon Carmelo Anthony) has been charged with killing Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in this town about 30 miles north of Dallas.
According to Fox 4 in Texas, Anthony was sitting under the opposing team’s tent and was told to move. Austin ordered Anthony to vacate the tented area, to which Anthony told Austin, “Touch me and see what happens.”
When Metcalf grabbed him to physically remove Anthony from underneath the tent, the station reports that Anthony reached into his pocket, pulled out a knife and stabbed Austin in the chest.
Judge’s decision enrages conservatives
Judge Angela Tucker, who is a Black woman and a Republican elected official, decided to lower Anthony’s bail from $1 million to $250,000, thus enabling his family to raise the funds to secure his release from jail.
While his family and supporters are pleased, Tucker’s legal move enraged conservatives in the Dallas area and around the country.

“This evil judge deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison for what she did today,” one X user wrote on a post that included a photo of the judge.
“I don’t understand why you would donate to a murderer? What am I missing?” asked another person.
“There is a large population who live in fantasy land and have created a false reality in their head about what happened that day,” wrote a third person. “They also think getting touched is a good reason to stab someone to de*th in the heart (it’s not). Never underestimate how stupid people can be.”
FBI investigates threats against judge
The ferocity of the social online attacks have been intense and relentless, forcing the judge to seek cover under heavy police protection. The local FBI field office is investigating the threats.
Meanwhile, the Collin County Government issued a warning to citizens about communicating threats over the airwaves. They also vow to prosecute whoever doxed the judge.
“We are aware of a social media post on this platform that appears to dox a sitting judge. Sharing a judge’s private information is a crime and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. #RuleofLaw”
Blacks cite the hypocrisy exemplified by outraged Whites.
“So now all of a sudden they understand the concept of a judge showing favor to the accused because of their race? Funny how that works,” one person said on X.
“It’s so dystopian watching white ppl cry about getting treated unfairly when they literally celebrated when Kyle Rittenhouse and George Zimmerman got off scotch-free,” one person wrote on another thread.
“Y’all said 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was justified in killing two people with an AR-15 because he felt threatened,” noted Bishop Talbert Swan on X. “17-year-old Karmelo Anthony was defending himself when he killed Austin Metcalf with a knife and y’all think he deserves to go to prison. I wonder whyTE.”
