What is your skin care routine?

I don’t really have a regimen;  I have been using POND’s dry skin cream for at least 10 years. I moisturize every night. I drink a lot of water and I don’t really drink soda unless it’s a holiday and I’m treating myself. Honestly, I would say that I get it from my mama!

What are your makeup essentials?

I’ve been using MAC for years, but I’ve found that I really do enjoy IMAN cosmetics. Being that she’s an African American entrepreneur and model, I really do support her and her makeup line. It’s awesome for black skin. I have to use her powder every day, I don’t leave home without my IMAN compact.

Is there a certain type of hair you prefer for a “Meelah Williams style” look?

I’ve done it all! I’ve done the natural look; there was a time when I didn’t do a weave or wig. I’m still natural. I’ve never really had a perm. I tried it one time when I was first starting in the industry; they gave me a relaxer and my hair was like, “no ma’am!” So I stick to my natural or my press and curl. I’ve graduated to extensions and wigs. After wearing weaves for so long, I’m now a wiggy; I’m the wig queen. I have them custom-made by my wig stylist. We use virgin Indian hair, sometimes I love if it has light waves to it.

What do you want people to learn about you from “R&B Divas”?

I want people to learn that I’m a normal person, I cry, I laugh, I get upset, I hurt. I go through the highs and lows and woes of love. I have a child and he’s considered special needs and I get overwhelmed sometimes and I’m trying to figure out how to balance it all. I just want them to see that I’m passionate. I’m passionate about my son, I’m passionate about my music career and becoming a businesswoman. Hopefully they’ll learn that even though I’ve been gone for a while, I never gave up and I realize that I have a bigger purpose. I’m using this platform to raise awareness for autism and I’m hoping to be a spokesperson or inspiration at least for parents of special needs kids.
