Beyoncé’s Master Cleanse, the Feeding Tube Diet and Other Extreme Weight-Loss Plans

While diet and exercise are the safest ways to lose weight, a number of people have turned to extreme diets that promise quick results for weight loss.

Over the weekend reports surfaced of the K-E diet, the latest extreme diet that’s become popular amongst brides to be.


On the K-E diet woman are not allowed to eat any food for 10 to 15 days and instead ingest nutrients through a feeding tube in their nose.
The tube provides a slow drip of protein and fat, mixed with water to the stomach and totals to only 800 calories a day.

This extreme weight loss plan costs patients $1,500 and promises they’ll lose up to 20 pounds in less than two weeks.


While supporters of the program claim it’s perfectly safe, a number of medical professionals are advising people against it.

“If you lose the weight too quickly your mind is not going to be able to catch up with a newer, skinnier you,” psychoanalyst Bethany Marshall of Beverly Hills, Calif. told ABC News.

The feeding tube diet is just one of several diets however that take things to the extreme when it comes to weight loss.
