Black Detroit father convicted of killing toddler daughter insists she’s alive

It’s his story and he’s sticking to it. D’Andre Lane, 33, of Detroit has repeatedly denied beating his daughter, Bianca Jones, 2, to death. According to Lane, Bianca was abducted last December in a carjacking after he was forced from the vehicle at gunpoint.

Following a search, authorities found his car an hour later with the engine running and no trace of the girl.

Prosecutors say Lane fatally beat Bianca for wetting herself with a stick wrapped in a towel and tried to cover up the crime by wrapping her body in a blanket and strapping her in her car seat, later disposing of her remains, which have yet to be found.Black Detroit father convicted of killing toddler daughter insists she’s alive

Lane has professed his innocence and blames the police for not conducting a thorough investigation.

“I did not murder my child. I did not abuse my child. My child is alive,” he claims.

Wayne County Circuit Judge Vonda Evans foes not believe Lane and even told him so, “You tortured that child” and “You know you’re a liar,” she said.
