Celebs remember Trayvon Martin

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. And while the world waits to see his killer George Zimmerman stand trial in June, a number of people are reflecting on his passing.

“Will you wear a hoodie in honor of Trayvon Martin?” wrote radio host Tom Joyner on Twitter.

“Thinking of #TrayvonMartin & everyone who has been affected by violent crime,” wrote actress Gabrielle Union.

Prior to today’s messages of support, Jamie Foxx attended a peace rally earlier this month in honor of the slain teen’s birthday.

Trayvon’s parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, will travel to New York today for a “million hoodies” candlelight vigil in Union Square. A moment of silence will be observed at 7:15 p.m., around the time the teen reportedly perished.
