Shellie Zimmerman says she’s unsure of George Zimmerman’s self defense plea
The estranged wife of George Zimmerman is once again trying to distance herself from her murderous husband, this time by saying she’s unsure of his innocence.
Shellie Zimmerman appeared on the “Today Show” Thursday and detailed the recent domestic abuse incident that took place between her and her acquitted killer spouse. After telling Lauer that she was “sure” her husband was threatening her with a gun at the time even though one was never found on the scene, she was asked whether she believed Zimmerman was innocent in the unarmed shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
“I’m conflicted on that,” she said. “I believe the evidence but this revelation in my life has really helped me to take the blinders off.”
Shellie stopped short however on saying Trayvon was racially profiled.
“I have doubts but I also believe the evidence,” she said. “I respect the jury’s decision … He did not profile Trayvon Martin.”
Shellie also told Lauer that the person she’s divorcing has become a stranger and she regrets not pressing charges against him.
“This person that I’m married to, that I’m divorcing, I’ve kind of realized now that I don’t know him,” said Shellie. “And I really don’t know what he’s capable of.”
