Joseph Coleman, aka Lil Jojo, 16, an up-and-coming rapper, was gunned down while riding a bike in his Englewood neighborhood on Tuesday.
Chicago police say Lil Jojo was standing on the back of the bike as his friend peddled. A car crept behind them and a passenger shot Lil Jojo in the back, the teen later died.
Lil Jojo had taunted the Black Disciples — a powerful street organization — in his music, on social media sites and in videos on his YouTube channel, police sources have stated. Chief Keef (real name Keith Cozart, 17, an Interscope artist), allegedly has a fan base within the Black Disciples.
Lil Jojo’s alleged taunting of the Black Disciples may have led to his death, police say.
