In the wake of multiple sexual assault allegations against him, comedian Bill Cosby’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been vandalized.
On Friday, Dec. 5 an image surfaced on Twitter, showing that the word “rapist” had been scrawled across Cosby’s star multiple times in black marker. The photo was later removed.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce quickly addressed the sabotage in a brief statement saying…
“The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees. When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California State landmark.”
“The star is being cleaned up at this time.” They added.
Cosby received the Walk of Fame star in 1977.
Throughout the last month, at least 20 women have accused Cosby, now 77, of sexually assaulting them; many some decades ago. One of those women has filed suit against him, claiming that he molested her in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion around 1974 when she was just 15 years old.
The troubled star’s attorney, Marty Singer, has since denounced the suit and all other claims of wrongdoing made against.
The destruction of Cosby’s Hollywood Walk of Fame honor adds to a long list of hits the celebrity has taken since the rape allegations began surfacing. Not only has TV Land pulled the “Cosby Show” from its lineup, earlier this week, he was stripped of his status as an honorary chief petty officer in the Navy. – ruu hawkins/@ruubabie
