After three weekends at the top of the box office, Dwayne Johnson sparks rumors of a possible Furious 7 sequel.

During a recent chat with E! News, the 42-year-old star gushed about the undoubted success of his latest film, Furious 7. “We got lucky,” Johnson said. “In movies, you don’t make ‘em to make a billion dollars … It was my approach that we’re just gonna make a good movie and we got lucky.”

Lucky may be an understatement, as even the songs from the Furious 7 soundtrack have been breaking records. According to BBC, Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” featuring YouTube sensation Charlie Puth has been streamed more than any other track in the nation via Spotify, in just 24 hours.

As for fans interested in seeing another installment of the billion-dollar franchise, Johnson mentioned there may be an eighth film in the works. “Possibly, you know look, everyone’s talking about it now,” he said. “I think we create a little space, let [Fast 7] continue to roll out, people will hopefully enjoy it; seems like they are, and then we can talk about [an eighth film].”

In the meantime, Johnson has also officially signed a contract with Disney to be the voice of Maui, a demi-god, in the animated musical Moana set for release in 2016. “I’m excited, dusting off the old pipes, playing guitar,” Johnson dished, referring to his WWE days where he used songs to provoke certain reactions out of his audience. “Very excited about this because it’s Disney classic animation. It’s the best directors and Disney are the best storytellers in the world.” he continued.

Looks like Johnson is very busy these days (never a bad thing). But are fans really down for an eighth Furious film in the absence of one of their biggest stars? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
