Chris Brown and Rihanna have been through hell and back with each other over the past few years, and despite their perilous past, which includes Brown’s infamous assault and their subsequent breakup, the two seemed intent on making it work when they reunited last year. But, according to a new rumor, Brown and Rihanna’s relationship seems to have fallen into ruin, once again.
According to Los Angeles’ Power 106, Brown recently told radio host Big Boy that he and Rihanna had split up, again.
“Are you still with Rihanna?” Big Boy asked Brown, who replied with, “Uh, no. That’s the short answer.”
Power 106 tweeted the statement – which has been deleted – and then told Fuse that the interview was conducted last week, adding that “We wouldn’t have tweeted it if it wasn’t true.”
Indeed, the statement is true. However, according to Gossip Cop, Brown didn’t make the statement last week, he made it last year.
Gossip Cop posted videos of the interview, in which a clip of Brown speaking about and denying his then-secret relationship with Rihanna was replayed during his current interview. During the current interview, Brown spoke affectionately about Rihanna and even talked about his future collaborations with her.
Well, this certainly isn’t the first time that Breezy and Rihanna have suffered breakup rumors, and it certainly won’t be the last. And they’re not alone. Check out some other rumored celebrity breakups below. – nicholas robinson
