When it comes to Kanye West, getting the elusive rapper to do an interview is like trying to pull teeth from a chicken. However, it comes as little surprise that Kris Jenner, the mother of his longtime girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Kim Kardashian, was able to snatch up an exclusive interview with West on her new talk show. In a preview of the interview, which airs later today, West talks about his love for Kardashian and calls her his “joy.”
While chatting with Jenner, West discussed the constant criticism he receives from critics and angry fans about his high-profile relationship with Kardashian and explained that the reality star is worth all of the media scrutiny and the drama.
“I can have people saying this is going to damage your credibility as an artist or a designer, and I say I don’t care, I love this woman. When the paparazzi surround you and they know you don’t like paparazzi and they’re like, ‘Why would you be with this person?’ She’s my joy, and she brought my new joy into the world and there’s no paparazzi and no blog comment that’s going to take that joy from me,” West said to his daughter, Nori’s, grandmother.
West also talked about the loss of Nori’s other grandmother, his mother Donda West, and explained that Kardashian and his daughter gave him a new reason to live.
“After I lost my mother, there were times I felt like I would put my life at risk. I felt like sometimes I didn’t have something to live for….and now I have two really special people to live for…a whole family to live for….a whole world to live for,” said West.
Love for Nori and Kardashian has certainly helped Jenner embrace West as she claimed that he’s now a vital part of the family.
“I think that he has blended in to our family in such a big way that when we are away from each other, we miss each other. I think that we give him this safe haven and a place where he feels really loved and safe.”
Rumor has it that West and Jenner will be revealing a photo of the other new addition to the family, Nori, to the world at the end of the interview.
“She’s a beautiful combination of the both of them, but she is so adorable,” said Jenner of her granddaughter.
