It’s no secret that Lamar Odom has been having a hard time letting go of his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, even though she filed for divorce from him months ago. And in his latest interview with Us Weekly, Odom declares his undying love for Khloe and claims she will always be his wife.
“I love my wife. She’ll always be my wife, no matter what,” Odom said about their pending divorce, which he hopes won’t happen. “Who knows? We don’t know exactly if [the divorce is going through]. Only time will tell. I hope not. But even if we were divorced, she would always be my wife.”
Odom explained that marrying Khloe four years ago was one of the best decisions he ever made in his life.
“Those were some of the best years of my life,” he shared. “Being married and being married to a woman I decided to marry was, besides having children, the most important thing in my life.”
Despite the joys of their marriage, Odom struggled with both drug abuse and infidelity during his time with Khloe, which ultimately helped to cause their pending divorce. However, Odom admits to his faults, claiming that he’s flawed just like everyone else.
“We all have regrets, but the thing is to learn from life. There’s no one in this room, no one in this world who can say, ‘I’m mistake-free, I have made no mistakes,’” he said. “If you can introduce me to that person, please introduce me to that person. Let me meet him and speak to him.”
Odom explains that he thinks it’s unfair how people are judging him based on his marriage and his time on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” but he says that, for now, he’s focused on the other love of his life: basketball.
“This is the love of the game for Lamar,” he explained about his contract with Laboral Kutxa. “I’ve got a winner mentality; the mentality of a champion.”
“I feel good and every day I’m getting closer to closer to being on the court, but it’s a work in progress,” he added.
And, clearly, he’s also trying to work on saving his marriage and avoiding spending time in a courtroom with Khloe. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out. Even though Odom and Khloe still talk all the time, it seems like it would be tough to get her to stay.
