Lupita Nyong’o named People’s ‘Most Beautiful’
Lupita Nyong’o’s breakout year just keeps getting better. The gorgeous Kenya-Mexican beauty has officially been dubbed People magazine’s “Most Beautiful” and is gracing the mag’s annual issue. Nyong’o, 31, spoke candidly with the publication about how her early views of beauty were influenced by television.
“Light skin and long, flowing, straight hair,” she said about what she first considered beautiful. “Subconsciously you start to appreciate those things more than what you possess.”
She also dished on the best beauty compliment she’s ever received.
“When I have been called beautiful with not one drop of makeup on,” said Nyong’o, adding, “and also before I comb my hair or put on a pretty dress.”
Celebs, including Gabrielle Union, congratulated the star on social media.
“Over the moon!” she captioned an Instagram photo of Nyong’o’s cover. “#WCW,”she added dubbing her fellow actress her pick for Woman Crush Wednesday.
Nyong’o joins the likes of Beyoncé and Gwyneth Paltrow, who were dubbed People‘s Most Beautiful in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
Prior to landing People, the Oscar winner covered Marie Claire.
