Josephine Baker is an unforgettable entertainer. The St. Louis born performer, who was famous for her risqué style and legendary banana skirt, moved to Paris in the Roaring 20s and was once dubbed the highest paid in Europe.
Now showing at the London Bush Theatre, Josephine And I, which is written and performed by Cush Jumbo and directed by Phyllida Lloyd, will likely be adapted into a movie.
It is rumored that the biopic will star rude girl Rihanna as Baker. Interesting choice, but surely Rihanna’s fame precedes her and casting her could be a distraction from an informative and entertaining biography of the legendary Creole Goddess.
