Tamera Mowry-Housley took part in an interview with Cocoa Fab, where she outlined things that women should do to land a husband and forge a healthy marriage. The actress/TV host gave six tips, one of which seemed to include the mention of pop star Rihanna as what not to do.

“‘Like my grandmother always said, ‘dare to be different’,’ says Tamera. While it’s popular these days to be the Rihanna to his Chris (okay, sans the abuse fiasco), consider being different from all of the overly sexy, turnt up girls,” reads the article. The line soon spread around the Web, which fans and media claiming that Mowry-Housley was taking a shot at Rih-Rih.

But Mowry-Housley, who co-hosts the new talk show “The Real,” decided to defend herself via Twitter, and made it clear that she herself never mentioned Rihanna in her interview; despite the fact that numerous sites posted the quote as if she’d made it.

“Rihanna’s or Chris’s name NEVER came up in that the interview ‪@mycocoafab‬ I’m so confused as to why this site would do this,” Mowry-Housley tweeted. “To cause a controversy @mycocoafab that doesn’t exist is NOT cool. I’m I absolutely love @rihanna!”

It was pointed out that the Rihanna line was not included in quotations with Mowry-Housley’s other statements, indicating that the writer of the article added it as their own commentary. Unfortunately, it led to many people mis-reading the quote and attributing it to her mistakenly.

For her part, Rihanna has not responded to the controversy via social media or otherwise.
