The Get Covered Illinois Road 2 Coverage statewide mobile tour kicked off Saturday, March 1 with a second event held in the Washington Heights neighborhood featuring a branded Get Covered Illinois recreational vehicle. The tour provides ways to reach uninsured residents and encourages health insurance enrollment during the final month of open enrollment. Sunday’s event was held at Trinity United Church of Christ (400 W. 95th St., Chicago, Ill. 60628) from 1 to 3 p.m.
The Get Covered Illinois street team was present at the Road 2 Coverage event handing out information about enrollment and providing referrals to enrollment locations. Local certified navigators were also available at Trinity United Church of Christ answering questions and scheduling enrollment appointments. Visitors to the RV had the opportunity to share their stories about why they have signed up for coverage.
The Road 2 Coverage RV will be visiting communities throughout the state that have high numbers of uninsured residents. During the month of March, the RV will be visible in Chicago, Marion, East St. Louis, Rockford and other locations in the state.
