Common added to the cast of the highly anticipated ‘Suicide Squad’ movie

Grammy and Academy Award-winning rapper and actor Common has signed on to join the cast of Warner Bros.’ heavily buzzed about movie, Suicide Squad.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Glory” rapper will join stars Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie in the film, though Common‘s role is yet to be determined.


Based on DC Comics’ group of super villains, the film will center around the imprisoned group being recruited by the government to execute a number of covert missions.

Directed by David Ayer (Fury, Training Day), the film also features Adam Beach, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Cara Delevingne, Ike Barinholtz, Joel Kinnaman, Scott Eastwood and Viola Davis.


Suicide Squad is currently in production in Toronto. The release date has not been determined.
