Have you heard? Idris Elba could be the next James Bond, according to leaked emails.
As previously reported, in the last string of emails released to the public, Sony Pictures chief Amy Pascal suggests that Elba is next in line to star as the infamous James Bond in the hit action series.
“Idris should be the next Bond,” Pascal wrote in an email to Elizabeth Cantillon, a former executive vice president at Columbia Pictures nearly a year ago.
Although Daniel Craig is still on board for one more James Bond installment, Spectre, due in theaters on Nov. 5, 2015, reports claim that the English actor has been trying to ditch the series since he first signed on.
“I’ve been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it. But they won’t let me go, and I’ve agreed to do a couple more, but let’s see how this one does, because business is business, and if the s— goes down, I’ve got a contract that somebody will happily wipe their ass with,” Craig told the Daily Beast in 2012.”
Now, Elba has taken it upon himself to respond to the series of rumors in well… the best possible way.
