2Pac’s Group, Outlawz, Confirm They Smoked His Ashes

After rapper Tupac “2Pac” Shakur’s death in 1996, it was rumored that ‘Pac’s group of protégés, Outlawz, smoked his cremated ashes in memorial of their fallen mentor. Now, years later, the remaining members of the group have confirmed the claim, saying they did indeed smoke his ashes during a beach memorial.

During an interview with VladTV, remaining members E.D.I. Mean, Young Noble and Hussein Fatal (who claims he wasn’t there at the time) discussed the bizarre smoking tribute.

“Yes, it’s definitely true,” said Young Noble. “It was the night …[we] had a little memorial for him with his mom and his family and s–t. We had hit the beach, threw [in] a lot of s*** he liked at the beach. Some weed, some chicken wings, he loved orange soda, all that kind of s***.

“Pac loved that kind of s***, so we were giving him our own farewel.l And that night, I forgot which one of us came up with it … We twisted up some of that great granddaddy California kush and mixed the big homie with it. Flowing through our system, you heard?”

According to E.D.I. Mean, he came up with the idea after hearing a line on ‘Pac’s song, “Black Jesus.”

“I came up with that s***” said E.D.I. Mean. “If you listen to ‘Black Jesus,’ he said, ‘Last wishes, n***** smoke my ashes.’ That was a request that he had. Now, how serious he was about it? We took it serious.”

Well, Outlawz tribute to ‘Pac definitely gives a new meaning to paying respect to a fallen loved one. –nicholas robinson
