Singer Chris Brown is currently in federal custody. According to a spokeswoman for the U.S. Marshals, the troubled R&B star will be transported to the nation’s capital for pre-trial hearings for the assault charge he picked up in D.C. earlier this year.
“The judge presiding over the D.C. assault case signed an order on Wednesday, commanding L.A. County Jail to release Chris to the U.S. Marshal. On March 14, Brown was jailed in Los Angeles after being ejected from a Malibu rehab facility where he was “ordered to stay in the slammer until his April 17 D.C. assault trial, but the judge never determined how he would get there.” TMZ reports.
While Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos made every attempt to block the order, including offering to transfer the “Fine China” singer to D.C. himself, the “Then and Now” singer was immediately taken to San Bernardino CountyJail, en route to D.C.
