Things aren’t looking too good for Dipset crew member Juelz Santana, who was arrested Feb. 2 on four accounts of narcotics and weapons possessions.

According to VIBE, the arrest follows a 10-month investigation by the Bergen County prosecutor’s office and gang unit that included a raid of Santana’s New Jersey studio on Jan. 22 during which two handguns and 17 bags of marijuana were seized.

The raid also resulted in the arrest of Skull Gang group member Toby M. Raynor, aka Hynief, who was charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

According to a press release from the Bergen County prosecutor’s office, Santana is facing some pretty hefty charges of his own.

“Santana was charged with possession of a firearm and a controlled cangerouss ubstance namely marijuana, a second-degree crime; possession of a handgun without having a permit, a second-degree crime; possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance namely, marijuana, a third-degree crime; and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.”

Santana’s bail was set at $125,000, but according to statement from Juelz’s brother, Twin, via MTV, the rapper will soon be released from jail.

“We are hopeful that my brother will be released tonight,” he said in a statement. “He is just being processed through the system right now. I posted his bail earlier today. All computers are currently down at the prosecutor’s office,” said Twin.

Is this another case of the police targeting rappers or is it time for the justice system to crack down on rappers engaged in illegal activity? –nicholas robinson
