En Vogue sued over comeback album

En Vogue

Nineties powerhouse group En Vogue is being sued over lack of record sales? The remaining ladies of the once booming female group; Cindy Herron, Terry Ellis and Maxine Jones, are being accused of cheating their record label out of more than $100 million; so says the company suing them for leaving it high and dry for another label.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Rufftown Entertainment owner Rene Moore claims that he fronted the girls to the tune of $190K so that they could produce a comeback album in 2010. The only issue? It never happened.

TMZ even uncovered footage of the group in 2011 excitedly laying down tracks in a studio but cut to four years later and Moore says that they never cut the promised comeback album or toured, but in 2014, they signed with another label, Pyramid Records. “He believes they’ve cost him a fortune and wants both the group and Pyramid to cough up any potential money they cost him — to the tune of well over $100 million,” TMZ reports.

How was En Vogue able get out of their contract with Moore whom they allegedly owe millions to, scot-free? Wouldn’t their new label be made aware of such a debt and see it as a risk? Although this is all speculation at this point, we’re sure all the details will emerge soon. Stay tuned.
