Few music rumors are more widespread and enduring than the claims by conspiracy theorists and suspicious fans that music’s biggest superstars are part of an influential secret society called the Illuminati. In fact, the rumors have become so deeply ingrained in the minds of music fans rapper J. Cole once believed that his mentor, Jay-Z, was a part of the Illuminati.
“I’m a conspiracy theorist. I believed those videos,” Cole said in n a new interview with Jenny Boom Boom of Hot 97.3.
However, after spending time with the Roc Nation mogul, Cole said he realized that Jay is just a regular businessman and that the Illuminati rumors are “bogus.”
“Then you meet [Jay] and you see how things were and you’re like, ‘Nah, man. That’s bogus.’ That’s somebody who’s so far away from the truth and what’s actually happening, just creating something. They’re probably high,” said Cole.
Well, we’re sure that Jay is glad that his protégé no longer thinks that he’s high-powered knight for a secret society bent on controlling the world through money, music and celebrity.
But he isn’t the only one who’s been accused of being part of the Illuminati. Check out some other alleged members below. –nicholas robinson
