Perhaps fed up with all the chatter that his music streaming service, Tidal, is tanking, Jay Z used Twitter on Sunday, April 26 to get some things off his chest and clear up misconceptions.

The Roc Nation boss first sent a warning tweet that read “Stream of consciousness coming in 5, 4, 3, 2… #TidalFacts,” and then proceeded to fire off a succession of about 15 tweets addressing various topics, including reports that the platform is a failure (“Tidal is doing just fine”), scouting talent in Africa (“My cousin just moved to Nigeria to discover new talent”), and that there are bigger companies (Spotify?) actively working against the platform (“There are many big companies that are spending millions on a smear campaign”).

Reaction from fans was mixed as some fans expressed their continued support to and for Jay while others made it known that they didn’t think he needed to explain himself at all.
