Just last month, rumors surfaced that Kendrick Lamar had popped the big question to his high school sweetheart, Whitney Alford. And now the To Pimp a Butterfly rapper has reportedly confirmed that he is indeed engaged.
The rumors of the couple’s engagement began last month when Kendrick and Alford were spotted together at his meet and greet at Best Buy, where Alford was spotted wearing what appeared to be a large diamond engagement ring.
Although Kendrick initially remained mum on the rumors, he recently sat down for an interview with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” and confirmed that he did propose to Alford.
“Yeah, definitely. I’m loyal to the soil,” Kendrick said when he was asked if he was engaged. “You want to always have real people around you, period. Everybody that’s been around me has been around me since day one. People that [have] been by your side, you’re supposed to honor that.”
Well, congratulations are definitely in order for Kendrick and Alford and we hope the couple has a lovely wedding.
