Lil Wayne starts sports management company
Young Money artist Lil Wayne has not only started his very own sports management company a la Jay Z, but he has signed Real Madrid’s soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Earlier today, TMZ revealed that the “A Milli” rapper has signed Ronaldo as the first client represented under his sports management company, which will work in partnership with sports agency Polaris Sports.
Polaris Sports is affiliated with sports agency CAA Sports who has also handled contract negotiations for Jay Z’s Roc Nation since its startup in spring 2013.
According to reports, Polaris Sports will handle the image rights of Wayne’s growing client base while his sports management company will directly handle Ronaldo’s endorsements, marketing and branding.
Although Ronaldo has not confirmed that he’s signed on with Wayne, the international futbol star, who accumulated $77 million last year with $22 million deriving from endorsements making him the highest paid soccer player of 2013, shared the above photo of him, the Prime Minister of Japan and other Japanese politicians throwing up the YMCB hand sign.
