Hip-hop continued to flourish in 2016-17. Jay Z (4:44), Kendrick Lamar (DAMN), Rapsody (Laila’s Wisdom) have all released classic albums. Migos embraced mainstream success after a shout out by Donald Glover and the release of the album, Culture. DJ Khaled continued his reign of hits with the Rihanna and Bryson Tiller collaboration, “Wild Thoughts.” And Cardi B owned the summer with the catchy “Bodak Yellow” which made history on the Billboard charts.
BET celebrated the success of hip-hop with the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards. Rolling out was on hand to capture every moment.
