Nicki Minaj recently released her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Although the album is heavily influenced by pop music, it’s categorized as a rap album and will likely become one of the biggest selling albums by a female rapper.

Her debut album, Pink Friday, broke a record for most consecutive weeks spent in the top 10 by a female rap album on the Billboard 200 chart.


But while Nicki Minaj‘s album sales will put her in an elite company, there are several other female rappers who paved the way.
