West coast rapper The Game is facing the possibility of up to three years in prison all because of a simple game of pickup basketball.
On Monday, June 29, the “Celebration” rapper made an appearance in court to face charges regarding a fight he got into with an off-duty police officer in March. During a game of pickup basketball, Game allegedly took offense to a foul called against him and got into an argument with a man and punched him, before realizing he was an off-duty cop.
The Compton emcee was charged with a single felony count of making criminal threats and a single misdemeanor count of assault and battery that could land him in jail for three years if convicted.
The Game pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on $50,000 bail.
He is due back in court July 30.
