Quincy Jones to present ‘Soul Violinist’ Lee England Jr. at upcoming Los Angeles performance

Quincy Jones has a long and impressive history in music.

Earning a nod from the 82-year-old impresario, who has worked with everyone from Count Basie to Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson, can provide instant credibility and an immediate career boost to whomever is so lucky earn it.


Enter Chicago native Lee England, Jr.

The 20-something known as “The Soul Violinist” will be presented by Jones in a one night only concert in Los Angeles to officially introduce him to the world while celebrating England’s astounding talents. The event will also serve as part of a fundraiser for Geffen Playhouse’s education and outreach programs.


“Lee England Jr. is a remarkable talent that comes by very rarely, creating original and unique music straight from his soul,” Jones said. “His imagination and musical innovation speaks to all of us, reinforcing that music is, indeed, a universal language.”

Though new to some, England, who now resides in Los Angeles, has already made an impression on a number of well known figures. He’s performed as a featured act for Jay-Z and Beyonce; Rihanna’s Diamond Ball; the NAACP Image Awards, and the John Wayne Cancer Institute. He has also appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the “Mo’Nique Show,” and on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ “Making the Band.”

Despite his accomplishments, the honor of having someone of Quincy Jones’ stature behind him is not lost on England.

“It is a privilege and an honor to be presented by the legendary Quincy Jones, who is one of the greatest producers of our time,” England marveled.

Quincy Jones Presents Lee England Jr. will take place Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Geffen Playhouse, 10886 Le Conte Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, at 7:00 PM.
