Usher Talks Tameka Raymond Custody Battle With Oprah

Usher Appearing on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’

After winning a downright nasty custody battle, Usher Raymond will discuss the proceedings for the first time. Usher, 33, recently sat down with Oprah for her “Next Chapter” series and spoke for what he says will be the first and last time on his days in court with Tameka Raymond.

As previously reported, there were reports of infidelity with two of his estranged wife’s bridesmaids, as well as allegations of drug use and “bad parenting.” Even with those claims, a judge awarded the singer primary custody of his two young sons last month.

On Sunday, viewers can hear firsthand  why the singer continued to fight for custody of his children even after Tameka’s son from a previous relationship lost his life in a tragic Jet Ski accident.

“[He talked about] his marriage; the fact that his mother didn’t come to the [wedding]; the fact that he’s now gone through three years of a custody battle; now has primary custody of his own children; about breaking down on the stage in Berlin; what really made him cry on the witness stand; he talks about everything,” said Oprah in a preview of the interview. Also on hand for the interview was Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton. Tameka Raymond was not invited to speak.
