merica seems to be regressing to the times of Jim Crow and lynchings. Since the Tea Party has come on the scene, we have observed an increase in fanaticism in the form of hate signs directed toward the president of the United States to a growing increase in the ranks of white supremacist hate groups.
In Ypsilanti, Mich., the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department has started to investigate an offensive road sign that was found in the county. According to news reports, video captured a road commission sign that was showing the message “God Hates N_____s.” A spokesperson from the sheriff’s department stated that they had received several calls about the sign, which was located at Holmes and Ridge roads in Ypsilanti.
Since then, the road commission has gone to the scene, cut the sign off and removed it. It is now being examined to determine how the message was generated. Officials also note that in the past, similar road signs have been hacked in the past to display other messages, but it has not yet been determined if that is what happened in this case. –torrance stephens, ph.d.
